Never running out of tokens

    Claude reads tokens, small fragments of text, and the context window is the space that holds everything it can see at once: your message, the conversation history and the attached files. Reopening an old session reloads that whole history with every question, even a short one, making it slower and heavier on quota.

    Once the limit is reached, sending new messages is impossible until something unblocks it: waiting for the counter to reset, changing plan, or buying usage credits. Only waiting is free, and the only useful preparation is knowing in advance who to turn to within your organisation.

    To save quota, if the task is unrelated to the previous one, open a new session attached to the same project rather than extending a session from one day to the next. An extended session rereads its whole history with every question, while the new one starts from a short base and finds the project's files and instruction.
